Here are the 3 most common Will options:
1
You can leave a specific dollar amount.
2
You can leave a residual bequest where you can donate a percentage or the remainder of your estate after other needs have been fulfilled.
3
You can leave a contingent bequest made on the condition of a certain event.
Your advisor will be able to provide final text, but this is a good place to start.
"I give One Tree Planted [the sum of $_________] or [___% of the residue of my estate.]"

Donate Securities
One Tree Planted can accept both publicly traded securities and closely held securities.
How it works:
You can make a gift of appreciated securities (publicly traded stocks, bonds and mutual fund shares) to One Tree Planted.
- You transfer appreciated securities to One Tree Planted.
- One Tree Planted sells the securities and uses the proceeds to fund critical reforestation efforts.
Real Estate
Gifts of real estate may include developed property, undeveloped property, or gifts subject to a prior life interest.
How it works:
- Prior to acceptance of real estate, OneTree Planted shall require an initial environmental audit of the property.
- You deed your property (such as a home, vacation home, commercial building or investment property) to One Tree Planted.
- Prior to acceptance of real property, the gift shall be approved by the Gift Acceptance Committee with the advice of One Tree Planted's legal counsel.
Retirement Plans
One Tree Planted will accept gifts designating One Tree Planted as a beneficiary of retirement plans including, but not limited to, IRA’s, 401(k)'s 403 (b)'s and other plans.
How it works:
- Your financial advisor and One Tree Planted can help you determine whether income from a gift plan or withdrawals from your retirement account would most benefit you and your family.
- You name One Tree Planted as the beneficiary of a qualifying retirement plan through a beneficiary designation form, ensuring assets will not be included in your taxable estate. An extra step may be required to designate a 401(k).
- After your lifetime, the residue of your plan passes to One Tree Planted tax-free and to any other named heirs.
Life Insurance
How it works:
- You can name One Tree Planted as primary beneficiary of your life insurance policy or as contingent beneficiary should your other beneficiaries not survive you.
- Name One Tree Planted as beneficiary of a policy insuring your life. At death the benefits pass to One Tree Planted free of federal estate tax and are applied to the program designated by the donor.
